CHAOTIC NEUTRAL

"You think this is a tragedy because you finally love me?
No. It's a tragedy because you're standing at the edge of the world,
offering a soul to someone that doesn't have one."

⚠️ Warning: Dark Themes ⚠️In the neon drenched cyberpunk city of Aethel, you are either an asset or corporate garbage. What Aethel Global Energy ( AGE ) thought to be garbage ends up being the only key they need that can complete The Infinite Power Matrix, and take absolute global control.Fused at a young age with volatile cybernetics, Axel was a part of a small, seemingly insignificant experiment– The Matrix Core Program. Echo, the manager of the program, was the only person who treated him like he was still human. But it was all a “long con”. The moment the project succeeded, she threw Axel away for a high-ranking executive position at AGE. Leaving Axel for dead.Broken, discarded, and rotting in the slums, Axel thought his nightmare was over. He was wrong. When AGE prepares to activate The Matrix, they realize a fatal flaw: the quantum feedback will destroy the world, sending it into a frozen wasteland. And Axel is the only entity on the planet whose specific programming can act as an insulator to stabilize it.With AGE sending a quantum pulse, locating Axel’s exact coordinates, and AGE hunter-drones flooding the streets, Axel is forced out of the shadows. But he is no hero, and he owes nothing to the world that broke him– or to the person who manufactured and threw him away. What happens when the world’s only savior has no soul left to care? Hunted, broken, and running out of time, Axel holds the switch to absolute control. When the final countdown begins, will he save the world that broke him– or let it freeze into darkness?

STORY

Prologue — InnocenceGrowing up in the under-grid, Axel and Echo were inseparable. She was the one person who treated him like he mattered, making it easy for her to persuade him into becoming the test subject for a small cybernetics project she managed. Driven by absolute trust, Axel let Aethel Global Energy (A.G.E.), alter his brain and body, effectively turning him into an android asset whose neural code held the entire initiative together. He didn't realize until it was too late that his humanity was just leverage; as soon as the project was complete, Echo cashed in his code for a high-ranking corporate executive seat, leaving him shattered and thrown away with the rest of the city's trash.

SPOILER WARNING

Chapter I — EscapeYears later, Axel is hiding out in a subterranean bunker, carefully using a live soldering iron to perform self-repairs on his degraded cybernetic body. A.G.E. executed a live quantum test on the Infinite Power Matrix. The pulse shocks axel, pinging his exact coordinates back to corporate towers. Before he can relocate, Echo arrives flanked by shadow-guards, begging him to let her "save him". Refusing to ever be caged or controlled again, Axel smashes his iron into a live electrical socket, triggering a massive explosion that allows him to escape into the city's sewers and make his way out. He boards a freight train out to the desolate Black Sunder Outlands.

Chapter II — SurvivalAs his cybernetics rapidly deteriorate from the journey, Axel collapses on the salt flats and is captured by The Dead-Wires—a gritty, anti-tech survivalist faction relying strictly on heavy iron, grease, and analog engines. Mistaking him for an A.G.E. executive spy and threatening to scrap him for parts, the faction spares him when Axel fearlessly offers his inside technical knowledge and combat cybernetics to help them defend their perimeter and raid corporate supply lines, earning his place among them.

Chapter III — StabilizerWhile surviving in the wastes, corporate hunter-drones flood the outlands to capture Axel. Through intercepted data, Axel uncovers the truth: the Infinite Power Matrix suffers from a fatal quantum feedback flaw that will cause global destruction, and his unique neural architecture is the only insulator on the planet capable of stabilizing the core. Realizing A.G.E. needs him as a human insulator, Axel escapes back into the city to confront his past. He fights through layers of corporate defense sectors and shadow-security, taking horrific damage.

Chapter IV — FreedomBleeding oil and blood, Axel breaches the central core chamber where Echo stands at the console. Seeing the broken, ruined state of the boy she built and discarded, Echo’s executive composure completely collapses into tears of genuine remorse. Dropping to her knees, she begs Axe to stabilize the core, promising to spend the rest of her life as his caretaker out of true devotion.Standing over her with cold, unyielding detachment, Axel remains unmoved by her tearful pleas. He reaches his arm right past her and smashes the manual grounding lever. The Infinite Power Matrix violently discharges into the planet; corporate shields disintegrate, and the neon skyline explodes into blinding arcs of static before plunging the entire planet into a permanent, freezing blackout. Leaving Echo sobbing in the pitch-black ruins of the empire she chose over him, Axel turns his back and walks out into the silent, cold shadows—finally free.
